Position Overview Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse Practitioner (Federal Way Public Health Center). The Community Health Services (CHS) Division of Public Health – Seattle & King County (PHSKC) seeks an advanced registered nurse practitioner who will provide high quality sexual and reproductive health services to adolescents and adults in the Federal Way Public Health Clinic. The candidate will work in an ambulatory clinic setting, delivering family planning, STD care, and PrEP services while engaging a diverse, low‑income population. Work Schedule This part‑time position is a 0.6‑0.8 full‑time equivalent (FTE) and may require occasional overtime or Saturday work. The role is hourly/non‑exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Work Location Federal Way Public Health Center – 33431 13th Place S, Federal Way, WA 98003. The practitioner may also be asked to cover other Public Health Centers throughout King County. Responsibilities Obtain and document client health histories, conduct physical examinations, and assess presenting issues. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop differential diagnoses, and initiate treatment plans. Prescribe, dispense, and monitor medications; provide patient education, counseling, and referrals. Maintain accurate medical records and complete required chart reviews and quality assurance activities. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care and system compliance. Participate in training, peer review, and professional development to uphold practice standards. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications – Experience, Knowledge, Skills Thorough knowledge of advanced nursing practice, including pathophysiology, pharmacology, assessment, and clinical decision‑making. Knowledge of state nursing regulations, health promotion, risk assessment, and evidence‑based sexual health guidelines. Proficiency in medical record documentation, clinical orders, and health information systems. Strong communication, problem‑solving, crisis intervention, and leadership skills. Capability to serve culturally diverse populations, including adolescents and individuals with limited English proficiency. Minimum Qualifications (Ideal Candidate) Washington State license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Washington State license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) with prescriptive authority. Completion of advanced practitioner training and board certification in a specialty such as FNP, Women’s Health, or Midwifery. National Provider Identifier (NPI) and DEA registration (pre‑credentialing). Current BLS/CPR certification with AED training at time of hire. Application Process NEOGOV Job Application.
